FinMap is a personal finance app built on a simple belief: everyone, without exception, deserves the tools to manage their money well. It brings tracking, planning and smart guidance together in one clean app, so users always know where their money goes and how to make it go further.

The Challenge

Many people know they should track their spending, but most finance apps feel complicated, cluttered or built for accountants. As a result, users give up after a few days. The goal was to create an app that makes recording transactions effortless, turns the numbers into clear visual insights, and gives users practical advice they can actually act on.

Overview Dashboard

The home screen shows the user's available funds at a glance, along with a monthly summary of income and expenses and a color-coded bar that breaks the budget down by category. Below it, users see their top expenses and top income sources, plus a shortcut to chat with the AI assistant.

The Transaction tab goes deeper. Donut charts show how funds are allocated across expense and income categories, with progress bars for each one and a full, sortable transaction history.

Recording Transactions

Adding a transaction takes just a few taps: enter the amount, pick a category, add an optional note and set the date. Categories are split into expenses and income, and every transaction can be edited or deleted later.

Planning & Custom Categories

The Planning tab lets users organize their budget into categories such as Living Cost, Entertainment, Education, Salary and Investment. Users can create their own categories, mark them as expense or income, and personalize each one with a custom color and icon. Every user's plan ends up looking and feeling like their own.

Ask FinAI

FinAI is a built-in chat assistant for financial consultations. Users can ask questions in their own words, such as "I've been spending a lot this month, can you help me save more?" FinAI responds with advice based on their actual spending breakdown, like suggesting ways to cut back on entertainment or rebalance their budget. It turns raw data into clear, personal next steps.

Settings & Support

A clean settings area covers everything else: profile management, password updates, notification history, a help center and app ratings. Notifications keep users informed with monthly reports and alerts for every new income or expense.

Visual Design

FinMap uses a confident blue as its primary color, conveying trust and stability, with green for income and red for expenses so users can read their finances at a glance. Generous white space, rounded cards, clear typography and friendly 3D illustrations keep the experience calm and approachable, even when the topic is money.
